Tracking your cargo

Worried about tracing your cargo? We have put in place several measures to ensure that you will always know where your cargo is. Our on-line tracker, which uses the container number as a reference point, is updated daily and will show you the intended vessel and eta for your consignment. Do not worry if you cannot get on line as we will notify you constantly by post or fax of pre-shipment details and arrival times.

Arrival in the UK

Prior to arrival you will need to nominate a clearance agent in the UK to declare your cargo to Customs & Excise. Trader Shipping offers a full professional service that can advise you on all aspects associated with Customs clearance and help you to avoid costly delays.

We also operate our own ERTS warehouse where your cargo can be unpacked safely and securely - giving you flexible options regarding storage and delivery at a later date.

Once your cargo has been cleared of Customs & Excise, delivery can be organised for you quickly and at competitive prices.

Customs Brokerage

Trader Shipping offers a professional clearance service on most types of cargo. Our staff are fully trained on all Customs & Excise matters and are always on hand to give you expert advice. No matter what clearance regime you currently use - simple home use, IPR, warehousing or CFSP we can prepare and submit the clearance details to Customs & Excise for you.

Classification of your cargo

Accurate classification of your cargo is essential to the survival of your business. By correctly identifying your cargo you will rest assured that you are paying the right amount of Duty and VAT to Customs & Excise. On any work undertaken, we will examine and classify your cargo. If we cannot classify your product over the phone, then samples may have to be given to Customs & Excise. Classifications like this can take days or even weeks to sort out but luckily we have access to FAST TRACK the express classification system - giving you legally binding tariff information within hours.

Due to changes in FSA regulations in 2005, we can no longer offer insurance directly.

However, a facility is available via a specialist insurance broker to provide cover for your goods whilst in transit anywhere in the UK and throughout the world.
